DANCE SEASON OVERVIEW:
All classes will be held in person each week.  Classes will run September through sometime in May.

The Dance Season ends at our annual Dance Recital in May (specific venue and date is yet to be determined). Dance Classes meet once a week and we follow the Scarborough School Department for Holidays and Vacation Days…with the exception of most Monday Holidays, where we often DO have dance classes.

More specific information will be in the Monthly Newsletters handed out in class and emailed. Two Snow Days are built into our schedule. If more than Two Snow Days are used, there will be a make up class offered.

TUITION:
Tuition is broken into 9 even monthly payments: (September through May) and is due on your child’s First dance class of each month.

30 Minute Class = $54 per dancer per month
45 Minute Class = $59 per dancer per month
60 Minutes of Classes (Two 30 Minute Classes) = $64 per dancer per month
1 ½ Hours of Classes (Three 30 Minute Classes) = $69 per dancer per month

Tuition can be paid via cash, check or PayPal. Some families like to use our automatic payment plan via PayPal which will be made available at the end of August / beginning of September. An email will be sent out with details on how to begin that process at that time. A one time $25 registration fee per dancer is due at the time of registration.

ATTIRE:
Dancers may wear any style and colors they choose in regard to dance wear. Leotards, Dance Dresses, Skirts, Tutus, Leggings, Shorts, T-shirts and Tank Tops. Please NO JEANS! Tights are optional.

DANCE SHOES:
Children will need PINK BALLET SHOES (Girls) OR BLACK BALLET SHOES (Boys) for all Ballet, Lyrical, Creative Movement and Ballet, Jazz & Hip Hop Combo Classes. BLACK JAZZ SHOES for all Jazz Classes.

BLACK TAP SHOES for all Tap Classes. Dance Shoes can be found locally at Walmart & Target for Children’s Sizes. My favorite online dance store is: www.discountdance.com. Pay very careful attention to the Sizing Guides when ordering dance shoes online.

Dance Shoes often run differently than street shoes and vary from brand to brand. I have heard that Lots for Tots consignment shop carries dance shoes as well. Petit Jete Dance Store in Brunswick, Maine is the closest local store offering professional fittings: www.petitjetedance.com

DANCE RECITAL AND COSTUMES:
We will have our annual Dance Recital in May of 2024 (Date and Venue TBD). Participation in the Dance Recital is not mandatory but often the highlight of the dancer and his/her family’s dance season. Each dancer participating in the Dance Recital will need to purchase a Dance Costume.

Dance Costumes are $70 each, which I order in November to ensure that they arrive in time for the Dance Recital and with wiggle room to make a size exchange if necessary. I have ordered dance costumes in December for the past 22 years, but need to order them earlier this year as we had a few hiccups with the supply chain delays last year. Each Individual Class will have its own dance routine and costume in the show.

Combination classes such as “Tap & Ballet” will have ONE Routine and ONE Costume (I choose either Tap or Ballet for the class) in the Dance Recital. Costume Payments are DUE IN FULL ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17th. 2023. You are welcome to make smaller payments toward your dancer’s costume(s) during the months of September, September and October.

Please write “Plus Costume Deposit” on the memo line of your check or ask for a PayPal invoice via email.
